No my friends...

...I haven't disappeared or given up blogging. I've been quite busy. Although you cannot tell by looking at my Events Calendar or by my postings, I've been stamping away and life has been keeping me very busy. Yesterday I did a fun event for a friend, Laura. I showed some basics of stamping and we did a couple of cards. We even used the Big Shot! This is a group of women who plan to meet monthly now through their church and will be making cards to send to our troops. Now how awesome is that!!!!

What stamp set did I introduce to the first time stampers in this group, did you ask? Well, that would be, Lovely As A Tree!!!! I also showed them how to color with the pastels. I demonstrated how to emboss. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! That brings to mind how a couple of posts back. Ummmm......... okay probably quite a few posts back that I mentioned I'm going to demo on my blog how to emboss. Okay. It will be up and hopefully running REAL soon. Just keep in mind, I am technically challenged.

This is a sneak peek at one card...

... we will be doing tonight at Stacey's workshop. :) Many of you know that fall is my favorite time of year. Can you tell? hehehe... I cannot wait for the workshop! I'm bringing lots of new samples and ideas with me that I brought back from Convention and have made recently that I share with everyone at workshops, stamp camps, and clubs.

The picture does not do the card justice because the leaf with the leaves on it actually has the new shimmer paint on it from mini and ooooooooooooohhhhhhh is it pretty!!!!! The stamped image, Give Thanks, is from a Level 1 hostess set that is easily attainable when you hold a workshop that reaches $150 in merchandise sales! Contact me if you're interested in more details. I will hold your workshop at my home for you if it is more convenient for you!

World Card-Making Event

JOIN WORLD CARD MAKING DAY
Find joy in the giving and receiving of handmade cards
Ilion, New York--It happens every day. You walk to the mailbox, pull out the mail and shuffle through a stack of ever-present bills and junk mail. But every once in a while, hiding among the dull and dreary envelopes, you find something that makes your heart beat a little faster and brings a smile to your face-- someone has taken the time to send you a card. What a wonderful feeling!
In celebration of World Card Making Day on October 3, Stampin' Up! demonstrators world-wide will hold stamping events all month long to create hand crafted cards and kick off the holday card-making season. World Card Making Day is a celebration in the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create when given to others. It occurs the first Saturday in October each year, and card-making enthusiasts of all skill levels and styles are encouraged to come together and share their creative passion for the art of card making.
Now in its fourth year, WCMD, founded by Paper Crafts magazine, is an effort to "unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making," according to the WCMD Web site. "Creating a handcrafted card brings a special kind of joy. There's joy in the process of creating, as well as in giving and receiving handmade cards."
Never made a card? As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would be happy to get your started in this immensely fulfilling hobby. Please join me on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. at my house to make five cards for $10.00. Bring your own adhesive! RSVP is necessary no later than Monday, September 28,2009 and please state which time slot you plan to attend. Refreshments will be served. Call or e-mail me!
Join with thousands of others this year to give someone a joyful surprise when they go to the mailbox!

Fall Wreath

At Club this week, we did some wreaths. This is the one I did. It is similar to the one found on page 92 of 2009-2010 idea book and catalog. It was so much fun. Some members did the fall wreath and some did a Christmas wreath which was done a different way. I'll be finishing my Christmas wreath this morning and posting it a little later on. Also, stay tuned because I have some stamp camps to be happenin' soon!

Look what we did at Ellen's today!

Ellen has been wanting, for some time, to do some framed art. Because we are coming upon (shhhhhh.......) fall, and I have beautiful Stampin' Up! designer series paper, cardstock, inks AND a nice die to use with my Big Shot, this is what I did! Everyone did their own version. My only regret is not bringing my camera to take pictures of everyone's creations to post on my blog for everyone to see. :( They all came out soooo nice and unique! We had such a nice afternoon. Thank you Ellen for inviting me and ladies, it was such a pleasure! :)

How would you like...

... to have daily access to resources displaying beautiful samples of stamped cards, scrapbook pages, decor, etc? This is just one pic that was available yesterday on what is called, Stamper's Showcase. Shirley Griffis was the creator of this card. It is on part of Stampin' Up!s website that only demonstrators have access to. You know what another neat thing is?! Sometimes we get to see our own creations on Stamper's Showcase. I have! When I go to events like Leadership or Convention, I submit swaps into the basket that they provide and you just wait to see if they put them on. I brought swaps for other demonstrators in this area and we are waiting. :)

Monday, August 31, is the last day to take advantage of the mini starter kit at $85. If you've been on the fence about being a demonstrator, now is the time. For the price and what you get, it doesn't get any better than this! I will be available over the weekend to talk or meet with anyone to answer questions. There is no penalty should you decide not to continue as a demonstrator at any point. The product is yours to keep. I'll give you fair warning though. It is addicting and lots of fun will be had by all and you'll wish you did it a lot sooner! Don't delay. Sign up before Monday and I have a special something for the first three people that do!

Convention 12x12 Scrapbook Swaps

Here are just three layouts I received at Convention in a scrapbook swap that I participated in. Honestly, you cannot really appreciate the beauty of them unless you see them in person. This one here is embossed. Hmmmm...... stay tuned because I think real soon I think I'm going to publish my very first video for you, right here on my blog! Yup! I'm going to demonstrate how to emboss for those of you who don't already know how. :)

This layout done by Penny Silva.

Again, this is a beautiful layout. It involved a lot of cutting out but it is so good!!! The detailing is great!!! Layout done by Sue Heron.

Mmmm..... Fall!!! Really, just around the corner. Look at the beauty, elegance and simplicity of this layout. The colors work beautifully together.

Layout done by Deborah Doolin.

Want to see more? Want to get a better look? Attend one of my events. Better yet, book a workshop! Hostesses really benefit. It's a great opportunity to have fun, make cards, eat and benefit!! Contact me and book your workshop now!

Friends :)

On the Stampin' Up! demonstrator site, it was announced that there was a newspaper article published about Convention in Salt Lake City. Several pictures were taken and one included this one of a friend, Deb. :) She is holding her Stampin' Up! Build-A-Bear that we were able to purchase while at Convention. Looks like she loves her bear as much as I love mine. lol I named mine, Stella. :) How many of you remember Stella Stamper?

Trig is 1!

Hard to believe but it has been a year already and now Trig is 1! Where did the time go? He was so sweet and cute today at his party. Scout and Pace played with water balloons and colored t-shirts. lol Oh yeah and ate chips. :)
Pace is still looking very much like his daddy. :O)

Although Scout looks quite serious here, she was talking up a storm and contemplating what piece of cake and flavor of ice cream she was getting. lol She has the dye all over her arms and hands? lol I'd say a good time was had by all. :)
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share,

Moments of Salt Lake City-2009

What an awesome time Andrea and I had at Convention. We've already started talking about next year! We've met new friends, learned many new things, taken lots of pics and come home with fresh ideas. Here is just a sampling of over 400 pics that I've taken in the few days I was in Salt Lake City. It was sad to see it end but I'm excited to hold workshops, stamp camps and build my Stampin' Up! family.

Wouldn't you like to be a part of it? It's easy and very affordable at this time for a very limited time. Do it now for $85. Contact me now.

A simple and sweet scrapbook page on display at Convention.

One of the displays in the Gathering Place showcasing some of her product line.

Our new charms, using the stamp set, Charming, and this was even signed on the back by Shelli. Andrea was a lucky winner of one of these!!!! Yay Andrea!!! Each one very unique!

No, this is not a lineup. lol These are three awesome friends from the south. They hung out in our room one evening and rather than get the background of a few thousand other women or buildings, etc, I asked them to get in front of a wall in our room. lol They are Sandy, Gwen and Lynn, in that order. Gwen and Lynn are twins. I met the two of them last year at Convention and hung with them quite a bit then and this time. They are sooooo much fun. Andrea and I met Sandy for the first time this year. We all cannot wait to see each other again.
There were soooo many more that we met. I'll post more pics of samples, friends and SLC. Also, I have marked dates on my calendar for stamp camps. Today I'll be in the process of posting to my Website Events Calendar to keep an eye on that. ;)
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh and by the way!!! There was a contest a couple of weeks ago to win a stamp set. Mary Jo won it! Congrats Mary Jo!!!

Coming to you from Salt Lake City!

What a great day today. We got up very early and headed over to the Convention Center (across the street to get our Convention bags and hit Momento Mall. Boy was it a long line and wait! While in line, we did a lot of swapping and boy did we go on a shopping spree once we got in there. We headed out to Riverton with new friends to tour the Distribution Center which is where these pics were taken. Imagine working here!!!

This is the entrance room, an absolutely beautiful atrium with a central waterfall with a cathedral ceiling.

This is a small portion of the "Idea Room" where creativity starts. The view is spectacular from the other side of the room with the mountains as a backdrop. Off this room is a room with three walls complete with whiteboards. Gorgeous facility and the staff were all so friendly and quick to answer any questions. Check back for more updates. Tomorrow is our first day of General Session and classes plus big announcements and MORE fun. Oh!!! I hooked up with more friends this evening, this group from Maryland and North Carolina. It just doesn't get any better than this. Thank you Stampin' Up! for this incredible journey!

Salt Lake City....

...here we come!!!
Isn't it gorgeous?!! Andrea and I are sooooo excited to be leaving in just less than two days. I still have lots of stampin' to do but plan to employ Rachael and Emily today with a few things. My stampin' family have been quite creative in making swaps to send with us to bring so they are already anxiously awaiting our return. lol

Andrea and I will be attending some fun classes, stamping, meeting new friends, swapping with other demonstrators, eating (oh yes, our favorite restaurant, the Olive Garden, is within walking distance), laughing, and taking a self-guided tour in Riverton where all of your/our stamp sets and supplies are sent from. Our lunches are included/provided each day of classes.

I will be taking my laptop but not sure how much time I'll have for posting for answering e-mails. lol Andrea and I are participating in several organized swaps including a 12x12 scrapbook two-page layout.

Any thoughts of attending Convention next year? NOW is the best time to join at $85!!! Lots of support, resources, fun, meet new friends, make extra money, and make your own schedule. Just $300 a quarter in sales with no minimum in workshops, stamp camps, etc. Do it your own way. It's that easy. For more details, contact me. Join the fun. For this price, you cannot do it through the online sign-up. You need to go through me. This special is only good until the end of this month!!!
